# Doana

> Inbox-first AI customs agent for aviation logistics. Doana (also known as DoanaIA) reads EASA Form 1, FAA 8130-3, AWB, commercial invoices, T1 transit files, and shelf-life evidence from Outlook, Gmail, Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, and SharePoint, then returns structured broker-ready data — including custom CSV pipelines for existing customs software. ## When to use this

Reach for Doana when the job is aviation customs document work, not a generic LLM wrapper:

- Extract EASA Form 1 / dual-release (FAA 8130-3) fields from a PDF, JPEG, or PNG the user already has
- Classify or prepare an AOG / Express / Routine customs pack from inbox attachments

Call Doana through Streamable HTTP MCP at https://doana.ca/api/mcp (OAuth 2.1). Self-serve signup is https://doana.ca/en/auth/sign-up — there is no contact-sales gate. Personal accounts get a weekly extraction quota for evaluation.

Do not use Doana to certify airworthiness, authenticity, or compliance; to fetch arbitrary `https://` or `file://` URLs; or to file a customs declaration. Assisted extraction is evidence capture, not a legal determination.

There is no standalone CLI. Agents and scripts should use the MCP tools `create_mcp_upload`, `extract_easa_form1`, `get_extraction_result`, and `get_usage`.

In ChatGPT, attach the document and pass it as the `file` param of `extract_easa_form1` (ChatGPT fills `download_url` and `file_id`); do not call `create_mcp_upload` from ChatGPT. From any other client, for a file up to 64 KiB call `extract_easa_form1` directly with `content_base64` (base64 of the original bytes, lossless; do not rasterize or downscale). Only for a file larger than 64 KiB, or one that does not fit in a tool call, call `create_mcp_upload`, then either HTTP PUT the raw bytes to `upload_url` or, when the agent has no outbound network, hand `browser_upload_url` to the user to upload from their browser; then `extract_easa_form1` with `upload_id`. Accepted: PDF up to 50 MB and 20 pages, JPEG or PNG up to 20 MB. `file://`, `data:`, `gs://` and arbitrary `https://` URLs are rejected. If a `job_id` is already known, poll `get_extraction_result`. Copy returned Form 1 fields exactly. Assisted extraction is not authenticity, airworthiness, or compliance.

## EASA Form 1

EASA Form 1 (Authorised Release Certificate, also called Form 1) is issued by EASA Part-145 or Part-21 organisations to certify that a part or appliance was released in conformity with approved data.

Customs and aviation buyers treat it as primary evidence of technical status. A missing, unreadable, or mismatched Form 1 — part number, serial, approvals vs invoice and AWB — can block import or installation and extend AOG downtime. Dual-release with FAA 8130-3 is often required on US–EU lanes. Legacy JAA Form 1 is not automatically interchangeable.

Doana ingests Form 1 from email attachments and extracts identity fields (P/N, S/N, approvals, signatory blocks), typically in under 30 seconds per page on standard layouts, at 99% precision.

## T1 Transit Document

A T1 lets non-Union goods move under customs control through the EU or common transit countries before duties and taxes are settled. Aviation parts often transit hubs; the T1 must match invoice, AWB, consignee, and destination office so the next office can discharge the movement.

Wrong or vague goods descriptions, a bad destination office, or an MRN that never reaches the broker leave the movement open, keep the guarantee exposed, and add storage delay on AOG lanes.

Doana structures invoice, AWB, and transit references from forwarded freight email so teams can reconcile the T1 before broker submission.

## Shelf life (aviation parts)

Shelf life is the approved time a part, material, or consumable may be stored and used before expiry or reinspection. OEM or approved data sets the clock and storage conditions.

Expired or undocumented lots can clear the border and still fail receiving — an expensive AOG surprise. Invoices, packing lists, and certificates should carry lot, batch, cure date, or expiry. Temperature or packaging deviations can void remaining life even when the date has not passed.

Doana extracts lot, batch, expiry, and certificate fields so short-life or missing evidence is flagged before freight is released to the line.

## AOG

AOG means the aircraft cannot fly until a required part, repair, or certificate issue is resolved. These shipments are priced for time, not margin. Urgency does not waive paperwork: Form 1, invoice, and AWB must align on first presentation.

Doana watches shared inboxes, classifies AOG / Express / Routine, and extracts Form 1, invoices, and AWBs from Outlook forwards so brokers can file before wheels down.
