If you search T1 from a Canadian desk, Google will offer the CRA income-tax return. This page is the EU customs T1 used to move goods under transit (CRA T1).
T1 is the declaration type. NCTS is the system that accepts it.
TL;DR. The Commission describes Union transit and common transit on its transit pages. UCC external transit (non-Union goods moving under duty suspension) is Art. 226 of Regulation (EU) No 952/2013. Broker language ranked on the vs SERP: T1 external for non-Union goods; T2 internal for Union-status goods. A T1 does not replace Form 1, 8130-3, ICS2 ENS, or a CARM CAD. Doana can recover MRN / destination office. It does not open or discharge NCTS movements.
What is a customs T1?
The Commission describes Union transit and common transit (the same rules extended to Common Transit Convention parties) on Union and common transit. Confirm the live list of Member States and contracting parties on that page. The Transit Manual is linked from the customs transit hub. UCC external transit (non-Union goods moving under duty suspension) is Art. 226 of Regulation (EU) No 952/2013 (CELEX 32013R0952).
Broker language ranked on the vs SERP (Across Logistics, 5 Jul 2023, not UCC text): T1 is the external procedure for non-Union goods under customs control; T2 is internal transit for Union-status goods (Across). UK guidance on transit and other suspensive regimes: GOV.UK. Versus table: T1 vs T2.
What does NCTS actually issue?
NCTS is the electronic system that processes those declarations (NCTS). On that page: when a movement is initiated, the holder receives a digital Transit Accompanying Document (TAD) or the MRN of the accepted transit declaration; at destination the goods are presented, an arrival notification is processed, and the office of departure writes off the movement and releases the guarantee. If destination feedback does not arrive in time, an enquiry can start.
Aviation parts often sit on a hub T1 before the final import filing. Doana’s T1 glossary (vendor) lists match failures against invoice, AWB, consignee and destination office, plus vague descriptions, wrong destination office, and missing MRN in the broker handoff (Doana T1).
A T1 does not replace EASA Form 1 or FAA 8130-3 (EASA FAQ 19466; 8130.21J), ICS2 ENS (ICS2), or a CARM CAD (CARM, system of record 21 Oct 2024).

T1 is the EU customs transit declaration, not the CRA tax return. NCTS is the system. A T1 does not replace Form 1, 8130-3, ENS or a CARM CAD.
Versus table: T1 vs T2. Packet: AOG customs packet.
Doana can recover MRN / destination office from forwarded PDFs (Doana T1). It does not open or discharge NCTS movements.
