Connect your first inbox

Connect Outlook, Gmail, or an IMAP mailbox to Doana in under five minutes.

Doana connects to the tools you already use. End users do not install desktop software.

Option 1 — Outlook (OAuth)

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Outlook.
  2. Click Connect Outlook.
  3. Authorize Doana to access the mailbox through Microsoft OAuth.
  4. Select the folder or folders to watch (for example Customs, AOG, Inbox).
  5. Click Enable agent.

Doana starts watching inbound mail immediately. When an attachment or message body contains a recognized customs document, extraction starts on its own.

Option 2 — Gmail (OAuth)

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Gmail.
  2. Click Connect Gmail.
  3. Authorize Doana through Google OAuth.
  4. Choose the labels to watch (for example customs, aog, freight).
  5. Click Enable agent.

Option 3 — IMAP mailbox

For professional mailboxes that are not Microsoft or Google:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → IMAP.
  2. Enter your IMAP server settings:
IMAP server: imap.yourdomain.com
Port: 993 (SSL) or 143 (STARTTLS)
Username: your email address
Password: password or app password
  1. Select the folder to watch.
  2. Click Test connection, then Enable.

Option 4 — Email forwarding

If you do not want to connect the mailbox directly:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Email forwarding.
  2. Copy your Doana agent address (for example yourname-agent@inbox.doana.ca).
  3. Set an automatic forwarding rule in Outlook or Gmail to that address.

Forwarded mail is processed within seconds of arrival.

Option 5 — Slack or Teams

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack or Teams.
  2. Authorize the Doana app in your workspace.
  3. Invite @Doana into the channel you want (for example #customs, #aog).
  4. Drop a file or mention @Doana with an attachment — extraction starts immediately.

Check that the connection works

After connecting, open Dashboard → Recent activity. Processed documents show their extraction status and any compliance gaps.
